Coney - Master Plan
This project done in tandem with Stephen Wubboulding, investigates the closure of Cincinnati’s historic Coney Island amusement park and reimagines the flood-prone Ohio River site as a resilient waterfront community. Rather than defend against periodic flooding, the design embraces water as a generative force. Annual and historic flood patterns are extended into the site, carving a network of habitable islands connected by civic spines that provide circulation, public gathering space, commerce, and infrastructure. By treating water as an asset rather than a threat, the proposal transforms a vulnerable landscape into a resilient framework for living, recreation, and public life.
